Flowers and Moving

My parents have a beautiful yard. These are some of the flowers that are blooming right now. I think peonies are my favorite late spring/early summer flower.
On another note, I am not really in favor of moving anymore. This last one has been horrible. Worse part...we are basically homeless. Don't worry! We have shelter, our basic needs are being met. I am staying in Twin Falls at my parents and Paul is staying in Soda Springs, near Grace, at a weekly rental place. Our stuff is safely in a storage unit and I am counting down the days until July 15. What happens then? Homeownership. Livin' the dream!
Oh yeah, Happy First Day of Summer! I hope you find something fun to do on the longest day of the year.

Packing Up

Not just the bags to go to Dallas for a baptism and blessing, but everything. Paul got a transfer to Grace, Idaho, ASAP. It came as a surprise since only a few weeks ago, he was told we would be in Kansas until December. We are happy and excited though. It's closer to the mountains (between mountains in fact) and closer to family. In less than two weeks, we'll be Idahoans again!

Apparently I'm Afraid of Snakes

My parents have a snake problem. The Common Garter Snake has made a comfy home underneath one of their back steps, like under the cement. The first few years my parents lived here the snakes weren't so bad. We'd see one or two and let them be. One time my sister walked into the storage room in the basement and there was one down there. She and my mom put a bucket over the snake and waited until my dad got home. The little snake problem has become increasingly worse though. Last summer my dad caught a lot of them and threw them into a field a little ways from our house. This year-he's already caught 33. Instead of throwing them in the field (I think they came back) he has been putting them in the dumpster so the trash man can take care of them.

So I walked outside this morning and there sunbathing on the lawn was a garter snake. I wouldn't have such a problem with them, but I saw a video on youtube about a snake infestation in Rexburg-look it up. Immediately I thought, I need to get rid of this thing. I called for my dad, he wasn't home. Tongs! that's what I needed, instead I got a bucket and tried to cover it. It slithered away too soon though. I did not have the guts to pick it up with my hands and throw it in the garbage. I always thought I would be able to. Maybe next time, but probably not.

31 Days of May-Day 30 and 31

The lilacs are still in bloom!
I almost made it through May, just don't mind that I didn't post the last two days of the month. I've been having too much fun hanging out with my parents, sister and niece and nephews. We've cooked hot dogs and s'mores over a fire. We've gone shopping. We've played lego's. We've watched good and horrible movies. We've had slumber parties. We laughed at an incident with scissors, a two year old and hair (I laughed, my sister just about cried). We've had a good time!
