I'm Thankful (a mini-series)

I love me some great kitchen utensils. So today, I am thankful for not only kitchen utensils, but technology and great thinkers. The RoboStir is a small example of great inventive achievements of mankind. Others: Computers, Internet, Pillowtop Mattresses, Flushing Toilets, Disposable Diapers (I spend a lot of time dealing with these), Automatic Transmissions, Cell Phones. You get the point. Thank you to the people who have the initiative to come up with great inventions. You are appreciated!

I'm Thankful (a mini-series)

A wheat field in Kansas

Today I am thankful for Paul's job. He is a grain merchandiser, which means he buys grain from farmers, stores grain and eventually loads it on a train to go somewhere else. I am not completely sure about the fine details of his employment, but he really loves what he is doing. When we go anywhere, we look at wheat fields, barley fields and talk about who owns the grain elevator we just passed. I am thankful for the hard work Paul puts into his job and I love that he gets paid so I don't have to work too!

I'm Thankful (a mini-series)

One of the basic necessities of life. Shelter. Today I am thankful for our house with all of it's 70s glory. Even though there are a lot of things I want to change about it like the windows, the driveway, the carpet, and the landscaping, there are things I love about it too. First of all, it keeps me out of the wind and snow. I love my kitchen (I would have taken a picture of that too, but I made a pie tonight and it has really big counters that are great piling grounds.) I love the layout. I love having a garage. I love the people who live in it with me.

Oh yeah, we have snow. It happened last weekend and it's supposed to happen again this weekend. Brrr.

Theodore's Blessing

Theodore was blessed on November 6th. He wore the same little outfit Paul wore when he was blessed. Our little family!
It was a wonderful day. We had lots of family come for the day. Paul's parents, my parents, my sister and her family, my grandma, and two of my aunts and uncles.

2 Month Check-Up

Can you believe this little guy is already two months? I can't, time is flying by!

These are Theodore's stats at his two-month appointment:

Weight: 10 lb 10 oz (20th percentile)

Height: 21 inches (1st percentile)

Head Circumference: 15 inches (10th percentile)

He is growing so fast! At two months Theodore likes to smile and giggle. He'll watch us as we walk around in a room. He likes to "throw it in the oven" during Pat-a-Cake. He likes to kick his legs and hold out his arms at the same time (it looks like he's riding a bicycle). Theodore is happy to have his diaper changed because he can wiggle on the changing table. He likes to go on walks and the car seat is his friend.

Halloween 2011

I hope it's not too late for Halloween pictures.

We carved pumpkins on Sunday night and for the first time EVER we had trick-or-treaters! That was the extent of our celebrating. Theo had his two-month check-up so he wasn't up for partying.

1,036

That is the number of pages in Gone With the Wind. I read them all. Hence my lack of accomplishing anything else for the past month. That's how long it took. And in the end, a very good book. If anyone wants to talk about it let me know.

On a side note, look at this happy boy.
